What Causes A Lump On The Armpit Long After A Mastectomy?

I have a tiny lump in my left armpit, toothache type pain in left arm and painful area on my shoulder. I had bilateral mastectomy in April 2016 following chemotherapy fort triple negative breast cancer (invasive ductal carcinoma) Should I be concerned? Found the lump on Saturday night. I am seeing the breast surgeon on 1st December when I go into hospital for breast revision surgery - should I wait and see if it s still there then?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be lymphedema or swollen lymph node. Consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
