Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I recently got sunburned on my back and discovered a mole that I am pretty sure was not there before, it is small, slightly faded and has a white border like a halo mole, soon after I also discovered a lump on the back of my neck near my spine, it is firm and about the size of a pea. I am a thin man so maybe I can feel it because my neck is thin? I have an appointment next week with a Doctor but I am worried, can you tell me your thoughts?
A mole that changes color or border needs to get checked by a dermatologist with dermatoscopy. It would be better if you don't neglect it because melanoma can be possible which is a cancer which can be prevented if spotted early.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
