What Causes A Lump On The Gums?

Hi. I suddenly developed a lump on my gums, a few teeth away from my front teeth. It doesn t hurt very much and is covering nearly an entire tooth. Upper gums. I tried popping it, only blood came out, but it didn t decrease in size. I was recently diagnosed with psoriasis and was wondering if this is related or serious.
