Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I injured my arm on a lounge chair pinching it hard in between the back side while trying to lower it. Injury occurred over 10 days ago. It hurt like crazy and was swollen and badly bruised next day. Bruising is gone but in last 3 days or so a lump and redness has occurred. Tonight it is very red with a red streak going down to my wrist. Feels slightly warm to touch. Thanks
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
In your case I think that the lump is due to the injury. Some advices that I can give to you are: 1) Avoid irritation and prevent infection. Do not squeeze, scratch, or pick at the lump. 2) Apply warm, wet cloths to the painful lump for 20 to 30 minutes, 3 or 4 times a day. 3) Leave the lump exposed to the air whenever possible. 4) Adjust your clothing to avoid rubbing the lump.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
