Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a pes sized lump above my knee - maybe more like at the base and between 2 inner quads. It hurts on its own; more when I press on it; and when walking, painful enough to make me stop to take the weight off my leg. It just appeared today. I had both knees replaced in 2010. I ve had spinal fusion L3-4, and 4-5. I ve been told my current pain issues, including my knees would be relieved by fusion at 2-3. The appearance of this pea has me very concerned.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM A painful lump on knee of sudden onset is probably of infectious/inflammatory origin or an injury since other cause of knee lumps like masses and cyst may not occur so suddenly with pain.I will advise you get a pain/anti-inflammatory drug like ibuprofen, a local anti-inflammaotory pain gel like voltarene and observe. If swelling and pain persist, you see the Doctor for examination. Hope this will help Best regards
