i had an inguinal hernia repair friday, the check up was today and i showed the dr at the base of my penis there was a bruising and a lump. he said it was normal but when i got home later with my gf. she saw how it looked when i was erected i was pretty concerned about it not being a blood clot. how would i know if it is

Scrotal hemtoma can be seen after hernia repair but penile swelling is unlikely. You can consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis.
