What Causes A Lump On The Throat?

My 23 year old son just told me about a lump on his throat between his chin and his adams apple. He said it's been there about a week and its gotten bigger. Do you know what this could be? And what type of doctor should I have him see? Ear, Nose & throat?

Lump inside or outside the throat? Possible causes are tonsillitis or lymph node enlargement or thyroid swelling or boil etcetera.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your ENT specialist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
