What Causes A Lump On Thigh?

Hi, I have a lump under my skin, on my lower inner right thigh (about an inch above and to the right of my knee). It is very sore and it hurts like an ingrown pimple). It is red on the surface, but it is not like a pimple that you can poke to get puss out. It s long and big (like maybe the size of a thumb print), but you can t feel it unless you put pressure on it. It does not move and you can t see it (other than the redish color). It has progressively hurt more every day and I ve had it for 4 or 5 days. Should I be worried?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pain and change in the color of the lump is something worrying. It might be some veins abnormalities forms soft lumps over the leg and thighs, mostly occur due to long time standing duties. Rest to the feet and skin-tight long stocking might work but still, it would be better to physically visit a doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
