What Causes A Lump Under The Skin On The Lower Back?

My daughter is 22 and has a 3 cm round mass, just under the skin, on the right side of her lower back. It is about 3 cm away from her spine, is non-painful, and moves when palpated under the skin. She just noticed it about 2 weeks ago when taking a shower. It is not bruised or irritated.

Most probably this is lump of fat known as Lipoma. It is a benign condition and not causing any harm except cosmetic aspect.
Other similar conditions are sebaceous cyst or any other cystic lesion. Sebaceous cyst has a black punctum on it so it can be identified that way. Sebaceous cyst is prone to infection; hence, removal is the answer. It is better to consult a surgeon.
