What Causes A Missed Period Despite Negative Pregnancy Results?

Hello, I haven t had my period since the end of January 2016 and my fiancé and I have tried for a baby for a while. Pregnancy tests come up negative and I haven t really had any symptoms. He is gone until August and I m just trying to figure out what s going on. I hope you can help me out.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
First possibility to suspect when you have delay in getting periods while you are sexually active is pregnancy.
However, since you have taken pregnancy test and it has come negative, there could be other possibilities which needs to be investigated and treated.
Kindly get the following investigations done:
1. Blood for beta hCG, FSH, LH and Prolactin levels to know the hormonal status.
2. Ultrasound scan of the abdomen.
Kindly consult Gynecologist with the report for clinical examination and correlation with the findings of the report for appropriate diagnosis and management.
