What Causes A Missed Period While On Euthyrox?

Hi, I have been taking Euthrox 75mcg cut in half for around 2-2.5 weeks. I have had a regular (within 1-2 days) cycle for over a year. I was due to start a period 2 days ago but as yet nothing... is it possible that the medication has caused this change? I have high prolactin levels (1120) so therefore assume that I am not pregnant. I also have not had unprotected sex around the time of the last predicted ovulation.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Usually Euthyrox may be won't cause missed periods. but other possibilities like prolactinoma of pitutary or insufficiency of thyroid hormone may cause missed periods. Still there are many causes for missed periods but I just mentioned that possible causes. Please consult your gynecologist she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
