What Causes A Painful Bone That Protrudes Out Of The Foot?

For the past seven years I have had a painful bone that protrudes out the middle side of my foot. It s on the side where my big toe lies. Now that I am an adult I would like to get it fixed but I would like to know what it is and how I could go about fixing it.

Hello,

It could be an osteoma. It is nothing but an outward overgrowth of the normal bony tissues. You can take analgesics like Diclofenac or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and get evaluated. An X-ray of the foot is required for further assessment. If symptoms persist despite taking analgesics, protruding segment of the bone has to be excised.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
