What Causes A Painful Bulge In The Upper Abdomen?

Hi, I have a small bulge on my upper abdomen right under my right rib cage. I have had an ultra sound and they found nothing. However, it is painful at night when I sleep on either side. I can feel it slightly and it sometimes causes a sharp pain like a cramp when I bend over to tie shoes, etc.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your history and negative ultrasound findings it is some lesion in your abdominal skin ..Please get examined by a surgeon or local primary doctor as it may be neurofibroma which is giving pain in pressing ..if local lesion is not found I will suggest CT or MRI abdomen.
