What Causes A Painful Bump Behind The Ear And Chest Pain?

My son has been complaining of chest painunder his heart only when he jumps. He is very athletic and plays several sports. Should I be worried? Also, I m pretty sure this is u related, but he has a hard bump behind his ear that is sore to the touch. Wondering if it is a bug bite or infection?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Heart rate can increase after physical exertion and it is a normal phenomenon. Nothing much to worry and it will return to normal after sometime.

The lump behind the ear may be a swollen lymph node secondary to infection somewhere.

You can consult a GP for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
