What Causes A Painful Bump On The Ankle?
i have a bump above my ankle about 1 1/2 inches long and wide, and sometimes it feels like a bug is crawling inside of my skin. it does not hurt. its been like that a couple of weeks. every now and then I feel it, if it would not of been for that, I guess I would not of noticed the bump. its kind of hard like a bug bite, I cant see a bug bite. it kind of reminds me of when I had chiggers, except it never itches.

Other causes can include ganglion cysts, which are fluid-filled, sac-like structures that can form in the top of the foot or ankle. In some cases, ankle lumps can be caused by infection, inflammation, trauma, or other conditions that could become serious, especially left untreated.
