What Causes A Painful Bump On The Buttock?

Hi, I just noticed I had a pain when I walked on my backside. It turned out that a bump had busted open on my right buttocks and I was bleeding. When I feel it, it feels like a small indention where my skin had apparently been puffed up before and I hadn t noticed. Is this cause for concern?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Conditions like abscess and hematoma have to be ruled out. Consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan. If there is diagnostic confusion, a fine needle biopsy may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
