Hi..
Thanks for the query..
As per your complain a bump on tongue can be due to causes like an abscess,
swollen tongue papillae, hematoma formation due to tongue bite while if it is located towards the under surface of tongue then it can be a
mucous cyst or Mucocele..
A confirmation can be done by a clinical examination and treatment can be done accordingly..
Secondly white patches on tongue can be due to
fungal infection known as Thrush caused by a fungi named Candida Albicans..
It can be caused due to a number of conditions like Dry mouth, Stress, certain medicines like antibiotics, steroids, birth control pills etc, immuno-compromised conditions like
Uncontrolled diabetes,individuals wearing Dentures etc..
These conditions disturbs the growth and maintenance of bacteria and other micro-organisms that keep a check on the overgrowth of candida albicans which is normally present in small numbers in mouth and body..
For this you should consult an oral physician and get evaluated for the cause of infection..
For treatment of thrush oral
Fluconazole or
Itraconazole has to be taken for a period of 1O to 14 days..
Nystatin mouth washed can help..
Anti fungal lozenges like
Clotrimazole can be helpful in resolution..
Take more and more of Probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic as it helps in clearing the fungus..
Avoid using antimicrobial mouthwashes..
Drink plenty of water..
Hope this information helps..
Regards.
