What Causes A Painful Cyst Under The Armpit?

Hello,I have a cyst or bump right inside my armpit. I need to wrap it, however, I don t know what to use or how to wrap it. The tape hurts my skin really bad. Any ideas?Once this is covered, the swelling goes down and it feel much better.Please help..this is so painful!!Thank you

Since it is so painful, it is possible that it maybe infected.

An abscess, which is a collection of pus , may form.

If this occurs then definitive treatment is incision and drainage of the lesion and the use of antibiotics.
Incision and drainage is a simple in office procedure.
Even though it may eventually burst on its own, pockets of pus may still remain.

In terms of wrapping, you should consider a warm compress to the area then using a bandage.
The warmth encourages drainage.
