What Causes A Painful Hard Lump On The Left Lip Of The Vagina?
I have a hard lump on the left lip of my vaginal area. It s deep under my skin very very painful, uncomfortable to walk, sit, stand, lay down pretty much anything. It s about a 1/2 inch long and probably 1/4 inch thick and deep. It appeared very quickly and is making doing anything very painful. It s worrying me and I am debating if I should go to the emergency room or not because it s so embarrassing.
Since you are having pain & discomfort in the vagina due to hard lump you are suggested to visit ER, get clinically assessed at the earliest.
Such symptoms are of cysts /lumps (inclusion cysts, Bartholin's cysts, etc) in vagina which may get pus-filled infected & if neglected form abscess causing painful intercourse & may also affect mobility.
Your treatment (biopsy to rule out malignancy, treatment with antibiotics, abscess drainage or minor surgery) will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
