Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
one morning I woke up with what appeared like a knot on my upper back. it was exteremly tender to the touch. I thought it was knot until i saw a bruse. because I have had spider bites before I m thinking I got bitten again. However, this time it seems to be more painful. There shortly I started with what think is kedney pain. What antibiotic would help?
The knot you have on your upper back extremely tender to the touch that turned a bruise could be due to any trauma you had on that part. If you really noted a bruise, should apply alternating cold and warm compresses to disperse the clotted blood from trauma. Applying heparin gel can also help.To rule out any kidney issue, I advise to run urine analysis and check kidney function in blood.
To decide if you need antibiotic, I need to have a look at the knot or bruise myself first. So, I would determine if it is from infected spider bite. Furthermore, antibiotics can be given only by prescription from your caring doctor. So, please check it out with your primary.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
