Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my 11 year old daughter has a very painful swelling behind her left ear. She says she noticed it about 12 hours ago whilst at school. Is it possible for lymphnodes to swell on only the one side? She has not had any trauma to her head or ear and there are no visible bites or anything. She does not have any earache either. Should I worry?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, possibilities of mastoiditis need to be ruled out this is would be the first concern then comes the lymph node, in either condition anti-inflammatory is the best way to treat it, and best drug would Tab Ibuprofen 200 mg three times in day, some this may need some investigation and ENT opinion is must, hope this information helps, take care.
