General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the lump in the throat do indicate underlying inflammation of the adenoid gland most likely from hookah smoking. Following measures will help you:
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil
- Prefer soft, easily palatable food stuffs
- Avoid smoking, hookah or other recreational drugs which will hamper the recovery
- Analgesic as acetaminophen or others after meals
- Consult your doc for prescription of antibiotic if needed

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
