What Causes A Painful Lump On The Forehead After An Injury?

Hi - I tripped over my dog and fell hitting my head on my the corner of my quartz countertop. Left side, even with my eyebrow, in the hairline. I now have a bump a bit smaller than a quarter. Area is tender to touch, did not break the skin. No other injuries. I did not loose consciousness, did not see double or get dizzy. Had a bit a headache (but already had a small headache). I took 2 Excedrin migraine (my usual headache medication). This happened around 6pm PST. I a female, age 61. Do I need to be concerned. Should I have it looked at? I did not realize there was a charge - I will call / follow up with my doctor Sorry to have taken your time

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to blunt trauma.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Apply ice locally.

You may require antibiotics after surgeon consultation

Hope I have answered your query..
Let me know if I can assist you further.
