What Causes A Painful Lump On The Left Side Of The Throat?

I noticed today there is a lump on the left side of my throat. It is painful. Its two finger widths above the end of my collar bone. It s about the size of a raisin. When I swallow, I can tell that its there. I have no other symptoms, besides a cough that I ve had for a few days. I was wondering if it could be serious and if I should make an appt to see a doctor. I am a 31 year old, female, smoker. Thanks for time!

Hello,

I would recommend you to watch the lump in the next 2 weeks. If the lump does not regress or you notice any increase or stays the same during this time period, it might be best to see your doctor and make sure of the cause of the lump.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
