Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I recently had pericarditis and last month an ultra sound showed gull stones. I am seeing a gull bladder surgeon in 10 days to discuss options. I have been jogging for 3 weeks now because my cholesterol and blood results from liver were not normal. I have also adjusted my diet to lesson upset stomach symtoms. I had been feeling good, lost about 10 pounds but now am expierencing lower back and tailbone pain. Particularly on my right side. I found a small symmetrical lump on my right tailbone. The lump itself does not hurt and is not visible on the skin. Should I see my family doctor about this pain and lump or could it be caused from issues with my gull ladder? Thanks.
The symptoms are most likely suggestive of a perianal abscess which is nothing but a collection of pus underneath the skin. However other possible causes like lipoma must be ruled out.
You can go for an ultrasound scan to make a diagnosis. You might require a fine needle biopsy in case of diagnostic confusion. It is unrelated to your other health condition including gallstones and cardiac problems.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
