What Causes A Painful Red Sore Bump On The Buttock?
I have a nice size area on my buttocks that is red, extremely red and painful, and the one butt cheek sore, and the pelvis area very sore and inflamed it keeps returning, goes away with antibiotic, but returns in the same spot each time like every year?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful red sore bump on the buttock. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like folliculitis, local infection, lipoma or allergy. Sometimes it can also occur due to STD. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep the area clean and dry , wear loose cloths , apply over the counter antibiotics cream and apply warm compresses . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like allergy test or take sample for lab test . Doctor will check physically for tenderness and consistency . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clarithromycin along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid cream . Doctor may also recommend surgical excision . In case of lipoma doctor may also go for liposuction .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
