What Causes A Painful White Sore On The Tip Of The Tongue?

My sinuses have been acting up since I got home from a cruise a week ago, but now I have had a swollen left eye with a stye and bag of puss under it. I have been feeling hot and cold, but no fever, and for the past 2 days I have had a painful white sore on the tip of my tongue.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

White sore at the tip of the tongue can be due to ulcer formation or can be an inflamed and overgrown tongue papillae that can be due to your lingering sinus infection..

So it is advisable to first of all consult an Emergency room and get a proper antibiotic course for treating infection in your sinuses..

It will help in reducing infection as well as the inflammation of tongue will also subside..
For the painful sore you can apply Lidocaine gel over it to reduce pain..
Do warm saline gargles..
Take Vitamin B complex and Lysine supplements..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
