Hi , i am Prashanth , i have a pimple or a acne i dont know wat is it , i have been with it in my nose for last two months and its not goin away , i have tried with crems and gel , but not gone yet ,, Latley im been using soframycin cream , do u think it is ok to use it ? Thank you
Hello and welcome to HCM, A bump or pimple like lesion in the nasal cavity is most probably due to folliculitis. Folliculitis is due to infection / inflammation of the hair follicles. Topical anti-microbials are used to control the infection however, since the bump is present inside the nasal cavity, a consultation with your primary healthcare provider is required. Anti-microbial ointment like clindamycin is used for skin but application on the nasal mucosa has to be done with caution. Thus, consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment and thus management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
