What Causes A Pimple On Nose And Swelling Around Eyes?
I have what appears to be a pimple on the right side of my nose near my eye. The eyelids are swollen and there is swelling under the eye. I have a headache and just feel blah. I started clindamycin today, when should I seek further treatment and what can I do besides hot packing it?
Pimple on the nose associated with swelling around the eyes is due to allergy, blepharitis, stye, conjunctivitis, etc. You should not pick, touch or scratch the pimple or eyes. Wash the face and clean the eyelids with a cotton dabbed in clean water. You can hold a warm wetted cloth over your eyes. Do not use any cosmetics or eye make up.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by an eye specialist. You can apply Genticyn eye drops 2-3 drops twice daily and give rest to eyes. For dry eyes you can be prescribed artificial tears eye drops. For pain you can take Acetaminophen, one SOS when required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
