What Causes A Plugged Feeling In The Ears?

Multiple times a day my left ear feels partially plugged. I can relieve the feeling by either inserting my index finger in my ear for a couple of seconds or putting digital pressure on my neck just under the portion of my jaw directly under that ear. This has been going on for the last two or three weeks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
The plugged ear sensation is mostly due to blockage of Eustachian tube that connects nose & throat. It usually follows a common cold/sinusitis.
Usually it is treated by anti allergic decongestant preparation ( synarest, lemolate) with antibiotic if indicated & ear-nose drops to relieve congestion of the tube.
vapor inhalation helps.
I would advise a consultation of ENT specialist for detailed examination followed by specific treatment.
Thanks.
