hi sir/mam,it is knee locking which is of two types true and pseudo knee locking.true knee lock occurs due to meniscal tear(meniscus is a part of knee joint)and also in case of any loose bodies in the knee joint.pseudo locking occurs due to any swelling of the joint and injuries, muscle spasm etc.only an orthopedician can differentiate between the two.true locking usually requires akeyhole surgery with a very good recovery.pseudo locking cause is to be evaluated and then treated by an expert.so, if your problem persists or increases in intensity, kindly consult an othopedic doctor.take care.bye.
