What Causes A Popping Sound Followed By Pain And Weakness Behind The Knee?

I was working out tonight. I was doing a step up on a box at the gym. I stepped on the box with my left leg. Pushing up with my right leg. I felt a pop and now I have pain and weakness in the back of the knee. I am not able to push off while taking a normal step with that leg. I also can not pick up that leg and curl is behind me.
