What Causes A Positive Test For Hepatitis-B Infection?

I just had my third blood draw for Hep B and going back for a follow-up appt on Thursday. I just received a series of 3 Hep shots, but I am told the shots would not produce the test results, which is "Antigens" of zero, but something popped up on the "Core" tests, hence the third test. I have a had multiple sex partners in my life, but I am not gay, a drug user or had a tranfusion, and I cannot recall ever having ANY of the symptoms of the virus. How do I determine if it is chronic or acute, and would having acute once in my life still show up on a test?

Hi,

HBsAg can not be completely eradicated in a patient suffering from Hepatitis B. However, complications maybe prevented if proper medication is taken and proper diet plan is followed. Treatment is advised IF high values of liver enzymes AND high viral Load on a PCR. If HBV DNA count in PCR are not high, Liver enzymes should be monitored regularly while Hepatitis B markers maybe checked every 6 to 12 months.
