What Causes A Prominent Vein In The Arm With Severe Pain?

I am a 33 years old, male. I recently started having pain to my right ribcage when I raise my right arm above my head. About two days ago I noticed what I assume to be vein that appears swollen and is tender to the touch. However if my arm is down and I don t touch it won t hurt. The pain is going on for a week now.

Hi welcome to HCM...

Here your physical examination has to be done along with detail history ...

If vessel tender to touch and enlarged than vasculitis has to be ruled out ...
For that biopsy useful that is send for histopathological examination...
CRP also needs to be done.....

If ribs are tender to touch than costochondritis can be the cause ....
According to cause further treatment guided. ...
Ex.for vasculitis steroid might given...
