What Causes A Pus Filled Lump On Ankle Caused After Injury?

On 9/13/14 some friends of mine and I were on a balcony and it collapsed, we fell between 12-15 ft. I shattered my heel bone and broke my ankle and had surgery 11/14/14. Im still having problems trying to get my ankle to bend. But a few months ago I started having a lot of pain in my foot and noticed a lump right under my ankle that I had after surgery. It became really sore and 2 weeks ago it filled with pus. It eventually popped but now its starting to pus up again with yellow fluid and pus coming out. Its it infected? And should I go to the emergency room?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, based on the description provided, it is infected and you should be seen for treatment.

Either by your doctor as soon as possible (within 1 day if possible) or by emergency services.
The area needs to be incised so that the pus can drain better, antibiotics are also needed.

I hope this helps
