What Causes A Rash Around A Lump On The Left Knee?

My daughter, 36, fell a few weeks ago and injured her left leg, just below her knee. Was seen in the emergency room and found nothing was broken. A few days later it swelled up a big knot, red, warm to touch. US was done and showed no blood clot but a large deep muscle bruise. Was advised to stay off it for a few days using ice packs to help reduce the swelling. The knot is still there, red, and now the skin is breaking out in an itching red rash and blisters are forming. She called her doctor back and she referred her to an orthopedic doctor. Why orthopedic and what is causing this rash?

it can be one of the the skin disorders known as rosacea... in which patient feels burning sensation ' flushing and redness over face.. spicy food , exercise and stree are the aggrevating factors its treatment dependa on the how severe it is ...like whether she has eye irritaion or blisters formatiom etc. but if her bp is high she should definitely get her bp checked again... whether its controlled or not ... as high bp can be dangerous
