I am in generally very good health... had a shoulder replacement surgery 2 weeks ago... Feel good- minimal pain- new ball- resurfaced socket- 1 night stay... A few days ago- (unrelated perhaps) I have developed a strange small rash on my ankles/ feet- hands / wrist (incredible itching)... hives?? Much less so around neck.. Same soaps, habits, clothes, clean person... 3 days in- worse at night when I slow down-.. not sure what it is??? Will it pass?? should I see someone?/ My general- or quiz the ortho dr.?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an allergic eruption. As first line management, you can take antihistamines like pheniramine for symptomatic relief. If lesion persists better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
