What Causes A Rash On The Arm After Taking Doxycycline Hyclate?

Iis have been taking Doxycycline Hyclate - 100 Mg for a couple of weeks. I have developed a rash on my arms that were exposed to sunlite. I see that I am to avoid direct sunlite. I didn t get burned but had a lite pink color. Is there anything I can take over the counter to relieve this. It doesn t itch yet. It s just there.

Hi,

Doxycycline can produce mild phototoxcity and you have to avoid direct sunlight while you are on Doxycycline.

Nothing much to worry and you can apply low potency steroids like Betamethasone for symptomatic relief.
