Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a rash that started on the inside of my arms just above where it bends. Started on the left arm, then to the right arm, and is now on the front of my neck. It s been at least four weeks. Red and itchy and sometimes burns. If I get hot / spend time outside - it seems to aggravate it. Never had before and no other symptoms that I ve noticed anyway. I m 45 years old, female. I have not changed anything - same soap, shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent - no changes in anything. Have never had any allergies to anything either. I bought some Exederm / hydrocortisone acetate usp 1 % that I have been using for a day and a half. Should I be concerned and see a doctor?
I suggest you have your blood test done specifically platelets level. Low platelet levels do cause a similar type of rash. Do you have a fever? are there mites?
You could take Atarax tablet, local topical application of steroidal cream and if there is anything wrong with platelet levels, further management can be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
