What Causes A Rash On The Foot After Possible Exposure To HIV?
Does ARS rash caused by acute HIV infection ever affect just the bottom of one foot? Are the symptoms ever staggered in the timing they appear and without fever? I am at week 3 since a high risk encounter and have had an itchy eczema type rash on the arch of my right foot since 1.5 weeks after possible exposure. 3 days after the encounter I was extremely drowsy and had painful tenderness in the skin and muscle on the back of my things and groin area. They went away some days later and about a week after that the rash developed on my foot. A couple other isolated hives have developed.
As first-line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
