What Causes A Recurring Ganglion Cyst On The Wrist?

I have a ganglion cyst on the inside of my wrist at the base of my thumb. An orthopedic surgeon aspirated it about a month ago because it was causing me to have some pain in my wrist and thumb. The cyst has returned however, without causing pain. I am having twitching in my thumb though which I just find to be annoying; not painful, just annoying. I ve increased my water intake so I don t believe dehydration is causing the twitching. I will state my stress levels are pretty high currently. Do you think the thumb twitching is being caused by the ganglion cyst returning or should I go see my primary doctor? Thanks!!

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to a pinched nerve in this region, probably caused by the cyst. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and nerve conduction studies.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
