What Causes A Red Line On A Skin Burn?

This happened 4 days ago: a hot curling iron landed on the side of my neck (just above my collar bone) & was there several seconds. A burn resulted. It turned dark red, got a huge yellowish blister. I ve kept neosporin on it & did NOT bandage it because I didn t want the bandage sticking on it. The blister went away, the pain & redness stayed. Now there is a red line leading away from the burn. The burn has developed a new blister. Doesn t feel hot, but still hurts. It s a bad area because any shirt collar rubs on it...

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, the area is sensitive as it rubs with collar. You may put a Jelonet bandage to cover the area, it does not stick. Also, apply silver containing creams if no contraindications.

May need oral antibiotics but for that you need to consult a dermatologist. Have the consultation as early as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Surajit Gorai
