Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a spot on my leg (inner thigh) that is red, warm, and tender to the touch. I tried once and put an ice pack on it and it made the area numb in a matter of a minute or two. Then I tried soaking it in warm water and it seemed to just absorb the heat. It s hard to walk because of the pain and tender to the touch and if it touches fabric it hurts do to the tender to the touch part. I want to go to the doctor but my parents aren t concerned about it.

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Harshita's Response
Hello,
1. If you are having hairy skin then it may be because of that as sometimes the hair follicles get broken up by the tight clothing which causes heat production and when we itch the area it causes a condition called folliculitis
2. Try using some antibiotic ointment over it for twice a day for 5 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Harshita, Infectious Diseases Specialist
