What Causes A Reddish Bump In The Ankle?

I am a 50 year old male, 6 4 , 250 lbs. location New Mexico. I have a round bump, 1 dia., purplish center 3/8 round, red from there out. Located medial side 4 above ankle. Painful to touch and off and on without. It has been there ten days that I know of, and about 10 days ago I remember feeling like a sting or bite in that area in the morning. Bug bite?, do I need to see an MD?

You should consult your doctor and go for examination. If needed go for biopsy. It will give you exact diagnosis. Then you should take treatment accordingly.
