What Causes A Scab On The Face Surrounded By A Small White Area?

I have a pore on my face that was irritated, scabbed about 10 days ago. I did use Bactroban that I had. The wound has not healed and is red. The weird thing is that there is a slight whitening of the skin for about an inch around this pore if I put hydrogen peroxide or today, when I had a facial. I do have a tendency to moles that must be removed. Is this something that should be seen or will just go away?

Dermatologist 's  Response

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should not self-medicate. According to your description, there is lesion that is not healing completely even after antibiotic cream. So you should visit a dermatologist as early as possible.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,
Dr. Surajit Gorai
