What Causes A Scar On Wrist After Using A Tanning Bed?

Hi, I have a mark on my inner wrist that looks like scar tissue. Its about the size of a dime, and I ve had it for about a week. I ve recently tried a tanning bed for the first time this past month and have used it about 10 times. I m wondering if its a reaction to the bed itself, or a topical bronzer that I apply before going in the bed.

Hi,

Your description looks more like an insect bite as the lesion is specific, limited and on one spot only that is of the size of dime only and not on any other part. It may be due to topical bronzer as you have suspected provided there was some other reason in addition to it like another chemical applied over the spot by chance. Consult your doctor as the visual examination by him can give most probable diagnosis and thus allow a proper management as per the cause found.

Treatment may be in the form of an antihistamine and oral steroid. Do not press or fondle over the area. Watch the whole body and see if there are similar lesions. Take care and do observe the progress.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
