What Causes A Seizure?

My son who is 19 had a mild seizure in April of this year after being sleep deprived. He was sent for an MRI and EEG and we just received a call that the EEG showed irritability and he was prescribed an RX for Kepra. We are not able get in for a follow up appointment with the Neurologist again until October. Does this mean he has epilepsy?

Hello,
Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com.
Hello as I read your query it seems your patient had a fit four months earlier and is now stable.
EEG report also suggested that the is hyperactivity in brain. Though one episode is not epileptic fit but associated with hypersensitivity may suggest the one.
You must wait and watch for 6 months and the episodes will not repeat then your physician will decide the further investigations and treatment.
As this time it is suggestive epilepsy.
Hope this will help you.

Regards....
