What Causes A Sense Of Obstruction In Throat With Chest Pain Post Coughing Fit?

My son is 5 years old. A couple of weeks ago he had a coughing fit while he was in the shower that lasted about 15 minutes off and on...he was not wheezing but said he was having trouble catching his breathe. After relaxing for a bit, it stopped. Today, he complained that he felt as though there was something caught in his throat and had some pain in his chest when he breathed in. I will make an appointment to see his doctor but does this sound like asthma? He has severe allergies and eczema and the doctor warned us he might be at a higher risk for asthma when he got older.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

These can be allergic bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, all these need sputum examination, chest X-ray, and compete blood examination. Also, I have seen faster recovery if you give your kid breathing exercises session of art of living [i.e. online courses].

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
