Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a sharp pain hit suddenly in the back of my head, left side approximately two inches from my ear. It lasts for a couple of minutes and leaves me dizzy for a few minutes. This has happened two or three times in the last few days I am 66 years old , female and in good health.
* As per my clinical experience, sharp pain at the back of head and ear may be in concern with possible cervical spondylosis or else.
* In my clinic, I do recommend a thorough neurologic examination, otoscopy of left ear, hearing tests and other supportive data fact for the evaluation of the root cause accordingly.
* Certain selected cases may require an MRI brain or other investigations over a period of time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
