What Causes A Sharp Pain In The Collar Bone Radiating To The Arm?

Ive been having pains that feel sharp and painful. They start on my right side right under my collar bone next to my right arm. The pain will radiate down the inside/back of my upper arm and at the same time up my neck to my jaw. My bottom teeth on both sides ache and hurt. My heart isn t beating fast, but it beats hard. My heart literally hurts. I thought of a heart attack, but all the symptoms are on the right side. Ive been dealing with health and mental issues with my 15 year old son so Im thinking it may be stress. Seems to come on when I think about things or talk about them to someone or my son.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The sharp pain in collar bone with pain radiating to the arm may be sign of underlying nerve compression involving brachial plexus at thoracic outlet aperture area from extra cervical rib or other issues. An X-Ray of the chest, MRI or nerve conduction study with EMG and NCV would be best parameters for the depth evaluation of the underlying cause and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
